Daytime TV Soap Operas struggle with story lines to make the daytime shows more interesting and lifelike as possible.
The Daytime Soap "All My Children" is giving Adoption a run for its money. Erica Kane's daughter Kendall has become pregnant with a child she thought she was giving up to Ryan and Greenlee. However as the daytime twists have it the child is actually the seed of Kendall and Ryan so of course Greenlee bailed out on it and left for another country, leaving poor Kendall there alone to have this baby.

One day my yard was full of activity. Things were jumping from tree to tree. Birds were flying away. The dog was barking really loud. I had never heard such a fuss from the animal kingdom in my side yard before.
I opened the door and stepped out on the porch. There set this big old feisty squirrel. He was running up and down the tree making such a fuss. My little Jack Russell was bouncing around like a ball trying his best to bounce up high enough to get ahold of that big fur ball hanging on the tree limb.
The animals were rushing and fussing all around the yard. Much to my surprise I went out a little further into the yard just in time to see a mommy duck and seven little... more
There is an elderly lady that lives on our block. With spring just around the corner, she needed a little help getting her yard ready for her spring flowers to sprout up through the ground. We called up a few friends and we all met at her house at 11 o'clock this morning. We handed out rakes and brooms and yard bags. A few pairs of gloves to a yard full of teenagers.
In just a few minutes the laughter began. Everyone was working hard and enjoying themselves. It didn't take us long at all. We put the rakes away and the neighbor came out with warm, freshly baked chocolate chip cookies.
Everyone stood around smiling and eating a treat. We walked across the street and called... more
This weekend was set aside for family time in our household. Everyone had to leave their friends, and dad and mom had to skip any work or plans and we all hung out as a family unit.
We began Saturday morning with a good country breakfast. Everyone together at the breakfast table. That is when we do our best weekend plans. We decided to go down state and get with our nephews and nieces and a bunch of cousins and all go to the new movie "Doogle" together. Of course it was popcorn and candy for all.
I think even the adults enjoyed the movie. There were just enough silly comments to make you giggle.
After the movie we all headed to Aunt Julia's. Of course we had... more
Saturday mornings are full of fun-loving cartoons that help kids learn to read and count. Thank goodness for big bird and all his gang.
Good old Blues Clues helps kids to learn thought and process. How to understand and identify the clue and find the answer.
Dora the Explorer takes us on adventures with her back pack full of things we need like a map, compus or other items to help us find and locate where we need to go. It also introduces little ones to a new language Spanish.
Those are a few of our favorites. Yeah we love Sponge Bob too. To me he is of little use and makes me adore Barney The Big Purple Dinosaur. At least Barney sings and teaches kids.

One of the neatest art projects we have done as a family unit was Emotional Smiley Faces.
We took the smiley face chart that we were given by a therapist and we sat and made door hangers. Each child had a set of their own. Made in their favorite color.
All it took was some construction paper and string, stapler and some markers. You cut out enough circles to create a group of feelings. We chose five major feelings.
1). Happy 2). Sad 3). Angry 4). Not Feeling Well 5). Leave Me Alone
Each of us drew our own funny smiley faces to represent those five feelings. We all decided to give good old number five horns and evil grin.

I think after being a foster parent you sort of get used to observing kids whenever they are around you. That is one of my favorite things to do. Children as so funny, from the expressions they make right down to the little things they do.
One day I was helping a friend out and watching her store while she went to a doctor's appointment. She sold all sorts of things from the cement ducks and cows, right down to craft beads and lace. I always felt at home in her store because one of my favorite things to do is create art and do crafty things.
Down by the entrance of the store, we kept a big three-tiered fountain. We posted a sign that said, "Feel Free To Make A Wish." ... more
I just have to take a moment and say, "Wow what a team!" I have been reading up on all my fellow bloggers and I am so impressed. The worth of the advice given here alone is awesome.
Dr. G and Bill are just two of my favorite sites to visit. But the good solid expressions that everyone has been posting gives me glory bumps.
Finally the web is full of good sites to inform people with any and every question they can think of on adoption.
How I only wish there had been just one or two good sites when I began searching for information. I am very proud to be a small part of this web site.
Thank you for putting your heart and soul into this project. When I read... more

As a child I can remember times when our whole family ended up snuggled in mom and dads bed. Those were some of the funniest and most pleasant memories we recall now that mom and dad have passed away.
Today was another weird day in the never ending story of Michigan weather. One moment it was snowing. The next moment it was raining. Then the thunder and lightening began.
This is the second time in my life I have ever seen an electrical storm hit with snow on the ground. I decided to go lay down and snuggle and get warm in my bed. It wasn't long before both dogs were snuggling in on the floor shivering and scared to death. I heard a knock on the door and it was Angela.... more
