While talking to my children on the phone recently. I just began telling each of them how very much I loved them and how they have been the light of my world. I talked to my son Joe first and he began to cry. He kept asking "Mom are you ok?" to which I replied "Yes, honey I am fine."
It was just one of those moments where I felt the need to let my children know how very much I loved them. I told all of them one at a time on the phone that I wanted to know that they were going to be fine before God ever decides to take me home. I have been... more
Some of the greatest conversations with children can happen over a good clean coloring book of fun. It is something that the whole family can get into and it can last as short or as long as you wish the time to last.
Watching the colors the children pick to color their pictures gives you a little insight to their world. Some will chose dark colors that reflect fear or sadness. While others are out there making people of the rainbow with big happy smiles. The pictures can reflect moods or simply just their most favorite color for that day.

America used to be an unexplored paradise. A place where Buffalo and Native Americans roamed the land freely. Then the World changed. New people arrived on the block,
so to speak.
Sometimes as an Adoptive Family I still feel like a Settler Family....exploring the wilderness as the new family on the block.
It seems in no time once someone knows that your child is adopted or children in my case. You are treated as different. Well yes we are different. So what. The children are still children. They have feelings and emotions.... more
Fall is a wonderful time of year to get out side and play with your children. Some of the best times I can remember are being out side raking leaves and doing yard work with the kids.
It seemed before anyone realized it we were off chasing each other and playing tag or tossing around a football. We of course had one rule around here. It was: NO Tackling MOM. More than a few times mom found herself running for the house with 4 adopted kids chasing behind her.
We have so many photos of all of us out climbing trees, playing in the big... more
It seems to be the year of babies all around us here in our little Mid Michigan town.
I myself have two new grandsons and one more on the way. Plus a new great niece on the way too. So I have been busy as can be making baby scrapbooks and filling them with dozens of fun pages.
I love the pumpkins, witches and ghosts I got off of the web site in the free clip art category of: kids Domain. They have a lot of fun clip art.
I found it fun and easy to find holiday clip art to take me through Thanksgiving and Christmas also. It is... more
This picture is one that I dearly love. It is of myself and my grandson Devin who is now 2 years old, holding his baby brother Kristian who is now 4 months old and my Oldest Daughter Stacey who is the proud MOMMY of both boys.
I spent a couple of weeks with them over the summer and enjoyed every second of my time with them. I also let my daughter know some of the issues I think she will be facing with Devin. He is already showing signs of ADHD.
God love my oldest daughter. She has been so special to me all of her adopted life. The... more

It has been a busy fall for my family. We had some home improvements done that just lasted to long. One project is still not finished which is delaying the beginning of a project that should have been started last week. Money is running low.
It seems like everyone I know is pregnant or have recently had a baby. So I have baby books and craft projects coming out my ears.
My lovely daughter April ran away and just called and wants to come back home again.
DHS is pressuring us to take her back in since she is a special needs teen.... more
The first few years after you adopt an older child. They may not be so used to the fun that is out there around holidays such as Halloween.
So sometimes having a Halloween get together at your place is a great idea to teach them how to have good, clean, safe fun.
What To Do:
1.) Have the kids make some colorful Halloween decorations in all the fall harvest colors.
2.) Rake the leaves up all around the party area if you are having it out in your back yard.
3.) Think of some good games. Like an apple toss, diving for apples, hidden... more
One of the Joys of my life is found in making personalized scrap book pages for my grandchildren and my daughters scrap book.
While searching the web I came across this very cool Web Site to find clip art for the pages. Everything from Halloween pumpkins to Thanksgiving turkeys can be found.
I always think of what event I want to capture in memory first.
Then I look for the perfect clip art to accent the page.
I make sure to leave enough room for pictures.
I add the date and any caption of words that will help us remember how much fun we had.
I print... more
Well here we are in late September. My son will be a father again in just a few short days. He has yet to step up to the plate and take responsibility for anything in his life.
This is the second relationship where he has gotten a girl pregnant and stayed with her until she was 8 months along and then walked out on them.
He has a beautiful little girl somewhere in Kentucky. Who is fortunate enough to have a wonderful mother who has taken good care of her. God sent a very nice man into their lives and he has become a wonderful father to this little precious girl.
Here it is just as if someone put a VHS in and pressed replay. Just a different young girl and... more
