Tyler Perry's-Madea's Family Reunion - Movie DVD
It is no secret that today's funny man in drag is Tyler Perry.
When I sat down and watched "A Diary of a Mad Black Woman." I was riddled with emotion. It was charming, it was heart breaking, it was funnier than anything I have seen in ages. It made me open up and feel for the woman loosing her home and her marriage. It made me respect her for landing on her feet and then it made me giggle with understanding when she slapped some since into her almost ex husband.

Tonight on Prime Time they went inside two Arizona Youth Detention Centers. They wanted to investigate the Lost Children as they called them.
One Boys facility and one girls facility. Where the kids placed there had committed crimes and had been locked away there to attend school and be reformed.
They told the story of one young man who was 14. He was at his brothers apartment during a party. He was not drinking but he wanted to have a little fun with his friend. He went into his brothers closet and he pulled out his brothers shotgun. He cocked it and turned and pulled the trigger. He was horrified when he found out the gun was loaded and he had just killed his best... more
Well you can sure tell that it is time for our kids to return to school soon. The big yellow buses are out in numbers getting ready for the new year to begin.
It is a good idea to go over the safety rules with the children about proper behavior on the School Bus. School orientations will begin soon and once again each child will be reminded of all the school rules. It is a good idea to go over them every year so that the rules are fresh in the child's mind and they can get off to a good start. For the new school year.

NBA star says that "There is an educational crisis in America and we must do something."
Children have been stuck in failing schools for so long that they have fallen through the cracks. Students in 11 th grade are reading at a 4 th grade level.
It is time to get face to face with the parents. Teaching everyone that education is the door way to transition.

Featured on the "Oprah" Show on August 31, 2006. Bill Gates and his Wife spoke of their fear for our Nations Educational Systems.
They appeared on Oprah to call national attention to the low level of education that American children are receiving. They highlighted the conditions of inner city schools verses suburban schools.
A bill has been passed to up date our school systems in the next 10 years for over a trillion dollars in educational improvements. From construction to new computer systems. While this is a very good idea.... more
It has taken me a few days to pull myself together enough to blog on the Prime Time TV interview with "Yates."
I listened as they told of her being a nurse. I listened as they said she was on medications for mental issues. I listened when they said that her doctor had taken her off "Halladol."
I listened as they described how her husband took her to a street preacher, who dressed as a devil and told his followers that "It was the mothers who responsible for their children going to Heaven or Hell."
I listened as her therapist told of how she had "Post Partdom Stress Disorder." Which got worse with each pregnancy. By this time she was pregnant with her 5th child.

We have all wondered what a child who has had multiple transitions (being placed from home to home) would be like. We worry about this and we try very hard in Foster Care not to let this happen to very many children.
But, sometimes it does happen and when it does, it has a great affect on the child. It causes attachment disorders and a multiple of other things. Michael Trout created a video of "A child's point of view on foster care and adoption."
In this video the voice of a child describes how they felt when they were taken from their fathers arms and put into placement after placement.

Recently I ran a crossed a letter article entitled "Dear Adoption Agencies." It is listed on The Adoption.Com web site that so generously supports my Older Child Adoption Blog. Which I do very much appreciate.
I enjoyed reading the Letter. It was well written by Susan M Ward of Older Child Adoption On Line Magazine.
It is a collective of ideas from Foster/Adoptive parents who needed to let the Agencies know that they need honesty and good information. I would recommend it to any new person entering in to our world of adoption or foster care.
It gives you good ideas on question you may want to ask about the child they are placing in your home or the one you... more
If any of you have seen the movie "Dirty Dancing" I think you will all remember the sexy, hunk of a man. Who taught Babi to dance. That man was Pactrick Swayze.
Patrick and his wife Nimie have been married for 31 years but have not been able to conceive and have a child of their own.
The Swayze's think they would be able to give a child a good life. Patrick has been known to say he would be a good father for any child. You can read up on their thoughts on adoption at:http://www.contactmusic.com/news.nsf/article/swayze%20and%20wife%20consider%20adoption_1002717
