One of the first things that will happen when you begin your paper work and journey to adopt. Will be a home study.

The hone study is when someone will come into your home and expect it for safety and living conditions. So you can cut some time off of your adoption wait by having your home in order.

1.) Make sure electrical out lets are up to date and have covers. 2.) Make sure your sink, toilet and bathtub have both hot and cold running water and are in decent shape. 3.) Make sure the room where your new adopted child will be sleeping is open and has a bed, dresser and contains a homey feeling. A few toys or wall decor would be nice. 4.) Make sure... more

Some of my reasons are:

1.) Lack of Knowledge 2.) I do not speak another language fluently. 3.) I have never had the money to travel. 4.) I am not knowledgeable of the Laws in other countries concerning adoption. 5.) Financially I do not have the money to live in another country long enough for an adoption to be completed.

So I have never thought that adopting... more

One of the most common issues with children who are adopted. Is an issue of trust. So many times in their life they have depended on someone to be there for them only to be pulled out of that persons life and placed into another home with new people.

So it is hard to relax and learn to love and trust again. Which is one of my reasons for allowing my adopted children to choose a pet of their own.

I usually like to have them choose a cat or a dog. Because pets like these love us unconditionally and they will cuddle and give us... more

As new parents we tend to want to impress the child. So we go way out of our way to plan fun weekends. While this is fun and a good idea for maybe one or two visits. It is better to actually plan normal weekends at home.
