Here we are already 12 days into January 2007. One of the best ways to stay on track in a busy family is to keep yourself organized.

1.) A date book calendar or a desk calendar would be the perfect way to keep appointments and important dates, available at your fingertips. An accordion file folder or if you can buy a file cabinet for your family. Might be an awesome idea for keeping a file open for each child that can hold medical papers and important school forms.

2.) An up to date telephone book with important numbers for family... more

So how do we understand children? The first big key is to know that they are as individual as snowflakes. Even though some of the basics of parenting will still apply to every child, things like discipline, nurturing, and development Will all differ.

Here are a few good tips to understanding children:

1.) Every child needs positive reinforcement. 2.) Every... more

It is time to think about the new year that is fast approaching. Many of us will be making resolutions. Many of us will break them before the end of the first day. Some of us are old and wise enough to give up on making them ~!

Here are just a few tips of wisdom On my top 10 list:

1.) Never put off today what you will dread to do tomorrow. 2.) If it sounds to good to be true, it's not true so don't waste your time trying to figure it out. 3.) Nothing worth having ever comes easy. It takes hard work and a desire to have something if it is of any value at all. 4.) Do not tell kids to remember important things. We all know that they forget or do... more

We hear that children are all sugar and spice. Kisses and Hugs mixed with puppy dog tales and a few Christmas mice. But do we really take time to sit and recall. What it takes to raise children most of all:

1). It takes patience. A blessed request. 2). It takes practice. To do it your best. 3). It takes cuddles. To nurture and love. 4). It takes sleep. A gift from above. 5). It takes laughter. A tickle and smile. 6). It takes presence. Mom sit for a while? 7). It takes water. And some clean soap.... more

Learning to teach children to feel is not an easy task. That is why we have experts who are trained in Child Pshycology to help us with things beyond our knowledge.

Sometimes children who have been molested or abused or placed in the foster care or adoption systems seem like an empty shell at times. They have been hurt so much and so often that to live through the experience they learn to turn off the pain. In doing so they literally turn off the emotional intuitions in their little body also.

Getting those children to open up and feel again is a life... more

We found the Christmas Bear collection and every year we decided to add a new bear to their collection that would stay in their room during the holidays. We found some of the looney tune characters that danced and sang Christmas... more

Our Baseball season is just about over and all the kids have had a good time here in Michigan following our Tigers to the World Series.

After the first game with Saint Louis. The kids really moaned and groaned because the Tigers lost. So as we all gathered around the T. V. to watch the next few games. We had to cheer each other up and find a better way of dealing with a loss.

The golden rule ...it's not if you win or loose but rather how you play the game. You can say that till the cows come home and still not be able to... more
