Dueling Adoption Delights

March 21st, 2007

These two precious little people are my adopted grandson Kristian and his great niece Lilly Anna. They are just a few days apart. My sister in law Lynn and I enjoyed showing them off to the camera. Had I not told you that adoption had anything to do with these two being family member, no one would have known. That is the glory of real family. I highly doubt that they will ever even care that the word adoption has anything to do with their growing friendship as family in the future. Kids are so forgiving and so understanding because at times they don't even care to understand the if, ands and buts about life. I wish we all could maintain that… [more]

Keeping It Real

March 18th, 2007

This little toothless wonder is my baby girl. She is the light of my life. The source of most of my humor. The reason I give such good back rubs. She has taught me to make up songs about any subject you can give me. She has taught me how to cry because I am so overwhelmed with how adoption has blessed my life. She has taught me to laugh because I never knew that such a tiny baby could poop out the top of her outfit and get it in her hair. Her tender heart and soft smiles have brightened even my darkest days. This is my favorite picture we have taken of her. It captures her personality. Her ability… [more]

.Once again this is another fantastic place for any kid to play and learn. The little person in this picture belongs to me.... she is my baby girl Angela. We spent several hours exploring each and every exhibit at the Children's Museum. When we talk about vacation the first thing that comes out of Angela's mouth is: "Lets go back to the kids' museum." After all, with an outside display like this who could resist....... This was one of the best spontaneous family vacations we have ever taken. We will be going back there when our grandsons get a little older so they too can take in and enjoy all the wonderful things this Children's… [more]

Outdoor Entertainment

March 8th, 2007

When calling around to find my daughter April, I called a friend's house and when I asked if he had seen April, he burst out in laughter. He then proceeded to tell me she was providing live outdoor entertainment for the neighborhood. In more detail he said "she is out there kicking another lady's butt." Once again my daughter was in another BiPolar episode and I had seen it coming on but since she is almost 18 and has moved out of our home, there is not much I can do about it except ask her to take her meds. Her medication is in her coat pocket, which someone approached us and gave to us to give to April three days ago… [more]

One of the greatest ways a child can express themselves is through words. Poetry makes it fun to just tell how you feel about someone or something in your life. Here is a great place to visit on the web for kids: http://www.gigglepoetry.com/ This is one of the sponcered poems....enjoy it. My Noisy Brother by Bruce Lansky -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- My brother’s such a noisy kid, when he eats soup he slurps. When he drinks milk he gargles. And after meals he burps. He cracks his knuckles when he’s bored. He whistles when he walks. He snaps his fingers when he sings, and when he’s mad he squawks. At night my brother snores so loud it sounds just… [more]

Sponge Art and Scrap Booking

One of the coolest new ways to create art for your scrapbook pages can be found with a little bit of paint and a sponge. The craft store has sponges in all shapes and sizes that can be used to create just the right look you may want on any art page for a scrap book or poster and can be even used to decorate children's walls. It just takes a little time and it is a lot less expensive than those custom wall papers that people are buying all the time. You do not need to spend a lot of cash on scrap booking materials either. When you can make wonderful pages of your own with a little bit of paint and… [more]

When Mom Is Sick…

January 31st, 2007

Over the past several weeks, I have been very ill. I have a bone infection in my foot. So I was sent home with a PicLine IV. Each day I have had 2000 milligrams of Vancomyicn drifting through my IV to help cure the bone infection. My surgeon said to "Stay Off My Feet." So my house needs cleaned, my outside Christmas lights still need taken down and I have no energy to do it. Thank goodness for my husband. He managed to put away most of the boxes from where I took down the inside decorations. So a little at a time I have been trying to get it done. My daughter Angela is so spoiled. I really hadn't noticed until lately exactly how spoiled we have… [more]

An Up Date On Family

January 26th, 2007

Well my bull headed, older brother made it through Quadripple By Pass Surgery. The doctor said if he follows the rules he will be better than new in a few months. What a wonderful thought to be in great health after almost dying. My brother however is the most hard headed person on earth. Mr. Know it all. Mr. Why didn't you just let me die if it was going to hurt this much. His nurse told him to breath deeply and he told her to go home early. To which she replied she would work a double shift just to harass him if he would not cooperate. So here he is. We are great full to God he made… [more]
