As a child I can remember times when our whole family ended up snuggled in mom and dads bed. Those were some of the funniest and most pleasant memories we recall now that mom and dad have passed away.
Today was another weird day in the never ending story of Michigan weather. One moment it was snowing. The next moment it was raining. Then the thunder and lightening began.
This is the second time in my life I have ever seen an electrical storm hit with snow on the ground. I decided to go lay down and snuggle and get warm in my bed. It wasn't long before both dogs were snuggling in on the floor shivering and scared to death. I heard a knock on the door and it was Angela. I told her to come on in and we turned on cartoons and snuggled together and watched "Sponge Bob."
It took about fifteen more minutes and April was at the door. So we scooted over and welcomed her in also.
We were kidding and joking around and just enjoying the time together. My husband showed up home and had brought us dinner. He peeked in the room and all three of us and the dogs were sound asleep. He tiptoed out and let us rest. I woke up shortly after I had heard him get home. Snuggled beside me sleeping soundly were my two beautiful daughters.
It is in moments like these that make your heart smile and makes every day of parenting a blessing. It brought back memories of me and my sisters snuggling in bed with our mom.
I am so thankful that as an adoptive family we are as close to one another that we can share moments like this also.
Thank Goodness for stormy weather. It gives you bonding time as a family for card games or cartoons and naps. However you spend the moments it makes for great family time.
