It is a known fact that going back to school is not so exciting for some kids. They begin to feel sick to their stomachs and their nerves are on edge. Finger nail bitters are gnawing at the nails and it can be just an unpleasant time for some children.

Many adopted children feel upset and physically ill during this time of year. It could be changing schools or the fear of making new friends. But it in fact can become a physical illness if the child's emotional issues cross over and influence their nerves. When this happens a trip to the local doctor is a good idea.

The child may need medication to keep the nausea in control and to settle their nerves. Just to help them take the edge off of the fear and help them get back into the swing of every day life in school.

One of the first things that happen when a child is scared of something or someone in school is...They will become ill. They may have a sick stomach, look flushed, feel a little warm to the touch. This is all natural reactions to an emotional feeling that has caused the child to be upset or nervous.

Speaking with your child's physician can help you learn more about how fear can make physical symptoms occur in the body.

With adopted children knowing that they are already emotionally fragile. It is no surprise that these small physical symptoms occur commonly.

Some times it can be something as small as riding a school bus that brings on a child's fear. Or meeting new teachers. All of which can be easily addressed if you know prior to the beginning of the new school year.

As a parent you can drive the school bus route with the children a few times so they feel more secure. You an even arrange to go and meet the new teacher prior to the day school begins.

A little open communication can save a child a lot of undue stress. The back to school butterflies can be chased into the air if you take a moment and talk it all out with your child.

Shopping for school clothes and school supplies can be fun and encourage excitement about the new school year ahead. It is also a great time to talk openly with your kids about how they feel about the new school season. It is all up to creative parenting.
