Beware of Attitude

We do not know exactly when each person learns to expose it or where it comes from in the first place. But it seems that everyone has it at some time or another.

When you are about to adopt an older child, beware they are going to come with lots of attitude. They will tell you what is what. They will tell you how so and so did this or that. They will tell you what they will and will not do.

It is all a phase to see how much you will take and how you will act. Sometimes it is better to "choose your battles wisely", as Dr. Dobson so often says.

Just expect it. It will take time for them to get used to you and for you to get used to them. It is not easy for strangers to just up and learn to live together. There is no doubt that everyone will find a little attitude and show it from time to time.

In my home when the air gets thick with fury, I start telling everyone to put on an "Attitude of Gratitude" and be thankful that they have family who love them enough to put up with a little bit of unpleasant moments.

Attitude can be a wonderful thing when it is positive and can make good things happen. So learn to turn it around.
