NBA star says that "There is an educational crisis in America and we must do something."

Children have been stuck in failing schools for so long that they have fallen through the cracks. Students in 11 th grade are reading at a 4 th grade level.

It is time to get face to face with the parents.
Teaching everyone that education is the door way to transition.

Kevin: Says that NBA was just a stepping stone to him and that his grandfather told him before he entered the NBA that he needed an exit plan.

His exit plan became a quest to model schools and he helped create "Hope Academy: Which consists of six schools." Located in his home town neighborhood in Sacramento, California.

Kevin stated that he had no time for any parents who
do not have a dream of their child attending college.

Anderson Cooper covered the "Knowledge is Power" Program. A KIP school style of teaching sets education to a style of rap and music. The teaching style is exhilarating and gifted. The school day is from 7 am to 5 pm and there are at least three hours of home work each night. There are presently 46 KIP schools around America.

They say that KIP encourages kids to look after each other. Training them to Be nice and to work hard.

After the KIP interview Oprah focused on the first High School behind bars. A high school drop out is 8 times more likely to end up in Jail. Seventy Five percent of the inmates in Sanfransiscos #7 jail are high school drop outs.

Some how the cycle of violence has to be interrupted.
So teaching high school and giving an educational opportunity for the inmates in jail. Will help to stop the crime after release from Jail.

Two choices available to educate and teach life skills so the inmates can work and create a life after jail or they will return to stealing and crime to survive on the streets.

Bill Gates is frightened at where America will be if the educational system does not receive help. That should scare us all.

Education is the most important thing in a child's life other than nutrition and physical health. Parents should encourage their children to participate and enjoy the art of learning.
