Everyone is concerned with keeping their children safe during the summer. It is no surprise that the cell phone industry is addressing this issue with dollar signs in their eyes.
All the top cell systems are coming out with their own child safety cell phone. The Migo is one of the top products on the market and the company can not keep them in supply. The demand for the phone was more than the market could handle.
Of course this lead to another company placing their line on the shelves also. Now there is a new twist.
One that will be adored by most parents who work and can access a computer. This new phone system tracks where the child is at all times. By typing in a code the parent can tell where the child is playing.
The Detroit News provided an up to date article on what phones are now on the market and when the new phones with the tracking chip for children are due to hit the market.
This seems to be an innovative idea and if it works.
I can see a wide spread desire for this child cell phone to be a top summer item on the buyers market.
I know that I would love to be able to know my child is at the park or over at her friends house or on the street near her friends house. The key would be to teach the child to keep the phone with them all the time. The way kids place stuff down all over the place and forget where they leave things is my one concern.
I hope the new system comes with a pocket clip key chain or some other cool way to attach it to the kids clothing. Which will not hinder them from play.
But rather insure that they like the phone and will keep it on their person.
Just one more way to keep our kids safe. The cost is expected to be 10 dollars per month added on the cell phone contract. Not so bad considering it helps keep track of where your child is at all times.
I see a sales war on the horizon for the new child phones. It will be interesting to watch who stream lines the product first.
