Childrens Books For Christmas

One of the nicest ways to encourage your child to read is to give them a book as a present.

With Christmas only two and a half months away. Parents with more than a few kids to buy for begin early Christmas shopping now.

There are several good children's books coming out in the near future. One of my favorites that are on the market now for young girls is "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants." I just ordered that series for my niece Shelby for Christmas. She is 9 and in 4th grade. She loves to read but never at home. So to encourage her to read at home I decided this Christmas I would give her some good at home reading material and help begin a book collection for her.

What is even more cool is that I am on a tight budget so I ordered on line from the DoubleDay Book Club and deferred my payments until March 2007. Right now you order 3 books and get one free. So I also got my daughter Angela and my grandson Devin a book for Christmas too.

Doubleday Book Club is one of my favorite Websites for ordering reading materials. However I often use Adoption.com for the books on adoption and other interesting things on adoption that I like to purchase.

So if you are an early shopper and would like to encourage your children to read at home. This is an idea to stop in and check out.

Just a little reader's advisory for people thinking about buying The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants for their "young" girls - this is really a book for teenagers - I'd say 13 and above. There is sexual content in the book -

My son loves books! I do too! I was very into the Babysitters Club series as a young girl. :)
