After all the red tape and home studies are complete and you are ready to begin looking for your child.

It might be very helpful to sit down as a family unit and create a Family History Book. This book should contain:

* Family Photos of your home.
* Photos of each person and a brief Bio.
* Pictures of the family pets and names.
* Pictures of past family activities.
* A Welcome Page to introduce your family.
* Some important information about your
family and neighborhood.
* A picture and the name of the school the
child will be attending.
* Anything you would like to tell the child
about family accomplishments and desires.

This book can contain as many things as you and your other family members can think of such as poems and other written letters to the new child.

Remember to have blank pages open and ready to begin encouraging the new child to add to the Family History Book.

This is a fun project and will be wonderful to bring out on holidays or rainy days and reflect upon.

Get crafty. Encourage the kids to draw pictures of their favorite vacation or experience.

All in all this book will be helpful in introducing your family to any child you may wish to adopt.
It will be something the kids can take to school and help them with projects.

Our Family History Book has become a treasured article in our family. When we look at it we get a secure since that we belong to each other. It tells the story of events that tie us all together as a strong Family Unit.

So get out a scrapbook and begin. Make it as professional or whacky as you wish. Be silly, be serious and be kind. It's all apart of family time.
