Dress Me Warm and Let's Make Memories

Fall is a wonderful time of year to get out side and play with your children. Some of the best times I can remember are being out side raking leaves and doing yard work with the kids.

It seemed before anyone realized it we were off chasing each other and playing tag or tossing around a football. We of course had one rule around here.
It was: NO Tackling MOM. More than a few times mom found herself running for the house with 4 adopted kids chasing behind her.

We have so many photos of all of us out climbing trees, playing in the big piles of leaves that we used to rake at Grandma Slaydens house. Those are now good life memories since this past year Grandma
Slayden passed away.

Now as I sit back and watch my children dressing their children warm and fighting with the kids to keep their hats and gloves on. I sit back and giggle. With full delight I watched as my children got their children ready for Halloween. I drove slowly in the car behind them and watched as they walked the streets and crossed at the stop signs to hit the good houses on the next block up for candy.

I took pictures of my grandsons and all of their friends (which added up to 3 more toddlers). As they fell asleep in their parents arms or strollers on the long walk home.

My daughter Angela loves Halloween season and she was at her best dressed like a black cat. Her costume fit her personality in every way. As she answered the door and handed out candy after she had gone out trick or treating herself. She told me "Mommy I don't know which is the most fun...handing out candy and seeing all the costumes or going out Trick or Treating myself?"

So our scrap book is full of pirates (Devin), pumpkins (Kristian) and black cats(Angela) and a dozen more of neighbor friends and their little goblins.

We have now moved on to the splendor of November.
Where we have several birthdays and Thanksgiving memories to make. So now we are working with brown and orange and yellow construction papers to make cool pages to add pictures to for our scrap books.

We usually have one family craft night each month where we work on our memory books. Recently, we lost one of my daughters friends to a car accident.
At October Craft night Angela made the comment that she can keep her friend forever by just looking at the pictures and memories they shared together.

On that note we will wish you happy crafting in your Adoption Scrap Books. From the hearts of our family to yours. Warm wishes for a wonderful Thanksgiving Memory Page.
