There is a young man in our area who is suffering from a condition with his heart that is very rare. When he was born, his heart was in an upside down position and he was not expected to live. He surprisingly has survived to a wonderful age of 17 and now he is in a difficult position.
Like many people who need heart transplants, he is on the list. His condition is getting hopeless if he is not matched with a donor heart soon.
My daughter called me in the middle of the night crying. She was so upset that I could barely calm her down and I thought something awful had occurred. When she calmed down she told me about this young man. She does not know him, yet his situation overwhelmed her.
Last month she had neighbors calling me asking to drop in and see me because she had told them "I was dying." I had to reassure everyone that yes one day I will die but I was not planning on leaving any time soon. All I had was a bone infection in my foot. Yes I have to have surgery In March but I was NOT dying.
I have dealt with my daughter many times with her over emotional reactions. When she is not taking her medicine for her BiPolar condition she often gets overwhelmed.
It is at these times that I like to watch her very closely because she is capable of suicide. Keeping track of her has been hard since she has moved out of the house.
I dare say if she does not get a grip soon I will have to talk with her doctors and have her placed in the hospital for an evaluation again.
One of the worst things about being BiPolar is the fact that when you take the meds you feel so good you think you do not need them. This can be tragic for people who have no concept of understanding their problems like my daughter.
She often tells people not to tell me if she is there at their house or where she is staying. It is like she views my concern as an intrusion into her life. It is very difficult for me at times to
not worry. I have to place her in God's loving hands. He is the only one I know who can care for her when I can not.
So anyone out there who has a prayer list add this young man with heart issues and my daughter to your list please. I believe when you can do nothing else prayer can change things.
