Here we are and it is almost spring. Get off the couch and turn off the TV. It is time to put the lazy days of winter behind us.

In the growing population of children, it has been documented that exercise is an essential part of growing up physically healthy. It also does a world of good for ones mental outlook.

With a vast population of us fighting the race to lose weight, it is just as important to teach good basic exercise habits so that we discourage our children from gaining weight.

Most of the time my kids love being couch potatoes. They think chores are punishment. So teaching the desire to work hard and have a good work ethic has been a chore around here for me.

I found this cool web site for kids. It is
http://kidshealth.org/kid/stay_healthy/fit/work_it_out.html.

It has good information for kids and it is written in a down to earth way for the kids to understand. They say: "When you exercise, you're helping build a strong body that will be able to move around and do all the stuff you need it to do. Try to be active every day and your body will thank you later!"

This web site offers kids articles to read on dealing with feelings, staying healthy, every day illness, the body, people places and things that help, the game closet. It even offers recipes.

Exercise is really good for everyone and it would be a great family activity. It does not matter what the plan is, like bike riding, walking, jogging, Just get out and move.

You can fit it in to your schedule anytime day or night. It is good to stop and do a few relaxation exercises during work. Just a few minutes per day can make you feel good. So get moving and stay healthy. Encourage your children to play hard.
