It seems to be the year of babies all around us here in our little Mid Michigan town.
I myself have two new grandsons and one more on the way. Plus a new great niece on the way too. So I have been busy as can be making baby scrapbooks and filling them with dozens of fun pages.
I love the pumpkins, witches and ghosts I got off of the web site in the free clip art category of:
kids Domain. They have a lot of fun clip art.
I found it fun and easy to find holiday clip art to take me through Thanksgiving and Christmas also. It is great for doing pages like "Baby's first Christmas." I usually go further if I know the name that they have chosen for the baby in advance.
I like to make the pages more personal. So with my grandson Kristian ...I did pages like "Kristians First Halloween" and dated it "October 31, 2006.
When my daughter saw the book she was over joy'd.
To say the least I made a beautiful scrapbook with a personalized poem for my niece Tanya's new baby girl also.
I was so busy into making my scrapbooks for the babies that my adopted grandson who is two. Had gone over without his mommy or daddy knowing and picked up his baby brother Jadyn and brought him to me.
At first I gasped and I took Jadyn from him. Then of course I looked at him and told him thank you for bringing Jadyn to Granny. Then I let his mommy know what he had done. I scolded her and said don't you dare yell at him. There were three adults in the house and we let a two year old pick up his baby brother. So yell at us first.
We sat Gavin down and let him know he was to little to carry his brother. He needed one of us to help him if he wanted to hold the baby.
I decided that I had done enough scrap booking for the day and I took some time and spent it with Gavin and baby Jadyn. I get so excited when I craft pages for my grand babies scrapbooks that I pay little attention to what else is going on around me.
Gavin had just reminded me that giving of my time as well is just as important. As for my son and their mommy. I wanted to slap em both into day light savings time. How could they have been in the same room and allowed Gavin to pick up his baby brother. LOL.....I'm just glad that Gavin knew to bring Jadyn to Granny. What a wonderful little grandson Gavin is. I am blessed to have him in my life too.
So next time this "Granny is gone wild." with her scrap booking and my grand kids come over. I will put it all away and play with them. They are more valuable to me than the pages their pictures will be placed upon.
Moral of the story here: Your time is more valuable to your children than anything else in the world.
