Happy Thanksgiving

The Thanksgiving table is set.
All of the best dishes are sparkling and the good silver is placed by each napkin. The candles are lit. Mom has spent hours in the kitchen making all the traditional recipes. From Grandmothers cranberry salad, to Aunt Marys green bean caserole.

The house smells like holiday blessings. As every one is called to the table and the Thanksgiving Day
Grace is given by our Father. Each of us make up a special part of our family. Today we give thanks for all the blessings God has placed upon us through out the past year.

For each person a thank you is said. Then we sit down together and as the smiles and conversations begin. Dad cuts the turkey and we all scramble to get our fair share of the meal before us.

I wonder to myself if this is what family is about around the world. Does everyone sit at a table together and consume a good meal? Or is there lonely people out there with no place to sit at a family table?

This is why Thanksgiving is so special here in America. We honor our family and friends and we take time to get to gether and enjoy being part of each others lives.

The holiday season has begun. Over the next eight weeks people will show love and compassion and enjoy haoliday get togethers. As we celebrate the Birth of Christ and the Joy of Christmas.

May everyone enjoy a wonderful Thanksgiving. From our table to yours. Happy Holidays.
