Happy Valentines Day

What a wonderful time of year it is. You can almost feel spring getting closer and Love is in the Air.

Valentines Day is wonderful. It is a special day where I make sure my significant other and all my children are given a token of Mom's appreciation and love.

I am often seen sneaking flowers on to the desks of fellow employees or sending a card to sisters and friends.

One of the great family memories I have are from making chocolate heart suckers with my kids. We bought the molds and chocolate and melted it down.
Poured it into the molds and we couldn't wait e for them to set and be ready to wrap.

I like to people watch when we go to the mall. It is awesome to see parents who openly hug their children and children who hug right back. Then there are those families that you wouldn't even think knew each other.

I know people have looked at us as a family and wondered what planet we are from at times. Especially when we go to the mall for a movie.
We all will stop and do a huddle hug and someone is always giggling about something.

Once my children learned the difference in showing emotions and affection towards their family members.
It just became a normal thing like saying thank you and bless you. If they needed a hug they were told to come get one. Nothing was ever to important that they could not come hug me and let me take time to hug back.

I am a strong advocate for letting your children know how much you love and appreciate them. I will be the first one to say I'm sorry if i am wrong about something. I also will never let a day pass that I do not tell my kids and family that I love them.

What kind of fun things have you done on holidays?
How do you get your family involved? It is awesome to do family projects and community out reach.

I used to love our Church Fundraisers. We would get out there and wash cars and have a blast doing it. Some of us would bake or do hot dogs chips, and pop. Whatever the reason. We always seemed to have the most fun just being together and working for a good reason.

One year we had a Valentines Celebration for our ladies club fundraiser. We sold cards and carnations and roses. Any one could buy them for anyone they wanted to show their love and appreciation for. On Valentines Day (happened to be a Sunday). The Pastor called out each persons name and they would come up and receive the card and gift that someone had got for them in secret.

I do not think that there was one dry eye in the Church that day. Love just started spilling out as people read the cards and words of inspiration that others had sent to them.

I had an extra dozen roses there for anyone who might not of gotten one with a card from our church.
All in all it was a day full of love and devotion.

So get involved. Get your family into a community project in spring like a park clean up or planting flowers. You would be surprised how much love and self esteem the kids have to stand back and say I helped accomplish that.

I wish you Love and Kindness this week and every day of your life. As you inspire others and they inspire you. Happy Valentines Day To Everyone!
