Home Safety

In grade school kids are learning to Stop, Drop and Roll. Fire Safety. So when they get home they need to be taught how to exit the home safely and where to meet outside if there is a house fire.

Some of the best things you can teach your child
are common since.

* When to call 911 and How to dial the number.
* Where home smoke alarms are and how to check
the battery.
* Where Fire Extinquishers are kept and how to use
them.
* Where a list of phone numbers are for Fire,
Police and Medical Emergencies.
* How to lock doors and windows.
* How to unplug electrical appliances when not in
use.
* Keep anything electrical away from water.
* How to be aware of their surroundings.
* Look both ways
* Do not walk between parked cars.
* Use the buddy system when at play or events.
* Internet safety.
* Using a Cell phone appropriately.

The list goes on. As parents we need to do our share in teaching kids not only to use safety rules
but apply them to every day life.
