How To Decorate A Kids Room For Christmas

After the first few years the children were with us. They decided that they would like to put some decorations in their bedrooms to brighten their own space.

I thought that was a great idea. So we went out shopping to find some cool items that are child safe that can be placed in a bedroom during the holiday season.

We found the Christmas Bear collection and every year we decided to add a new bear to their collection that would stay in their room during the holidays. We found some of the looney tune characters that danced and sang Christmas tunes.

We put festive colors of garland and plastic bulbs around their windows. Our oldest daughter has to have a light on when she sleeps so we bought this big Snoopy lighted figurine that had a Santa hat and candy cane in his paws. She used him as her night light during the holiday season.

Joe was not much into decorating his room. But he really loved to help dad do the out side of the house.

We all joined in on the Family Christmas Tree. Each year it would take on a different look and as the years passed by we had several keep sake ornaments the kids had hand made for us.

This year we will be passing down some of those ornaments to our older children with their own kids.
This way they will keep making memories for years to come.

Allowing children to get involved in the Christmas activities is a wonderful experience. To watch them decorate part of their world and stand back and look at it through their own eyes. Being able to hug them and tell them "It's a job well done."
Just blesses my heart.

Mom is still buying Christmas Bears for all the kids. This year will represent 12 Christmases that we have been a family. Twelve years of magic under our Christmas tree. I pray that every year God will place a little magic in their Christmas moments. I know he has mine.
