I Have To Do What?

God I hate the beginning of the new school year for us parents. We get these lists sent home of things we have to do each day with our children. (Which is good for the most part)

All I know is that trying to watch my favorite series
for the new season on TV and trying to listen and teach my child her spelling words. Just can not be accomplished at the same time.

I wanted so much to ask my husband to go over her work with her. But I know he has worked hard all day and my daughter is so much more important than some stupid TV show.

I snuggled up in bed with her and she read to me from her first library book of the season. Then we pulled out her list of spelling words and we went over them. With in minutes we were giggling and enjoying our time together. Then I rubbed her feet and legs and she was fast asleep.

I still was able to catch about 20 minutes of the TV show. Which was cool also. But we will have to do our snuggle time and reading a little earlier next week so mommy can watch her all time favorite series

season premier.

I even asked daddy to put time on his calendar for home work on Thursday nights. That is the only time of the week that i have to fight with my emotional issue of what is best my love of Greys Anatomy or my daughters spelling words and reading time.

My homework day with Angela is Monday. That is when her homework folder comes home and the real homework has to be done. Last week she finished it with only two questions and did it all in about 10 minutes. I was very impressed and proud of her.

She seems to enjoy school this year and she loves her new teacher. They write notes back and forth to each other in class. The teacher answers each child's question and then asks the child another question. Angela told me what they wrote about today as she was falling asleep beside me.

This year she seems to have a teacher who is full of inspiration and teaching skills. Let's hope mommy can hang with the program on Thursday nights. Or someone needs to by me a new DVR.

The woes of a Thursday night Grey's fan......
