This picture is one that I dearly love. It is of myself and my grandson Devin who is now 2 years old, holding his baby brother Kristian who is now 4 months old and my Oldest Daughter Stacey who is the proud MOMMY of both boys.
I spent a couple of weeks with them over the summer and enjoyed every second of my time with them. I also let my daughter know some of the issues I think she will be facing with Devin. He is already showing signs of ADHD.
God love my oldest daughter. She has been so special to me all of her adopted life. The sun always seemed to be smiling on her face. She was a mommy at the tender age of 7 and has been one ever since. She helped me raise her other 3 siblings we adopted. So terrific should follow the description of her in my minds eye at all times.
Sure she was wild and did a lot of goofy age appropriate behaviors. Yep I got on her butt more than a few times in the past 10 years. Yes she has had a rocky road in her married life. But she has stood right in there and held on when everyone else would have let go. She is not a person to give up on people she loves.
Our biggest issue now is her feelings of being pregnant again so soon. It just happened and she is honest and says that she is not ready for another baby. She has even joked about giving it to us if it is another boy. We just giggle and say "When are you going to find out if you or we are having a baby?"
Stacey is one reason that I know how to write about loving Older Adopted Children. She made it easy for us to fall in love with her. She was the too perfect child. The one you worry about the most.
But yet have the least trouble from.
So when you read of me and my oldest daughter you will know that she has placed a great joy in my heart that will last for ever and ever. She just keeps adding to it by giving me wonderful grandsons.
Thank you Stacey for letting me have the privilege of being your MOM. I love you my darling daughter.
