Kids and The Art of Problem Solving

One of the most valuable things you can teach your child is the art of problem solving. When children bicker and fight, instead of jumping in and correcting the kids by time outs. Try a different approach.

Take a few minutes and discuss why they are arguing.
Then ask them what other way would be useful in solving the problem rather than arguing.

By interrupting the argument and challenging the kids to take a moment and think. You are teaching them to brain storm and work out situations with out the anger involved.

It takes some time to get the kids into this kind of mind set. So you can expect to divide and conquer as time goes on. Soon you will realize that you no longer have to get in the middle. The kids will begin to problem solve on their own. But listen when you hear things begin so you can help encourage them to think before they punch or scream.

If you begin early training your kids to use their mind instead of their mouth or fist. You will see your child shine through the early stages of school.
They will be setting examples for other children and through them. Others will learn the art of thinking instead of fighting.

If you have any creative things to add to how we can train our children to problem solve. Please feel free to leave us a time in the comment section. We love to hear from our readers.
