Mom and Daughter Time

Today was a special day for my daughter Angela and I. We took down the Christmas tree decorations together.
We began by separating the ornaments by who they belong too.

Angela was amazed to find that she had a box of her own this year and it contained every ornament mom and dad had collected for her.

Over the years we began a collection of ornaments for each of our children. Which we gladly passed on to them as each one has grown up and gotten their own place to live.

Collecting the ornaments has been a very special event for us. Now we are teaching Angela how traditions like these are kept and each year we add one more special ornament to each child's set. Which is placed down in each families Christmas stocking each year.

Angela was so excited as we wrapped each ornament and placed it in the appropriate box. You could see her compassion flowing for each little piece as we placed it where it belonged.

I also noticed her look of devastation when one of my angels fell off the tree and she could not bare to see it broken.

I stood there silently thinking how blessed I am to share such things with this child. My other daughters had other interests and I equally enjoyed helping them with what they liked to do. However Angela is so much like me when it comes to cherishing traditions and collecting angels. I simply know that God appointed her to be my child even before she was sent to this earth.

She is so much like her dad when it comes to looks with those heavenly dark eyes and dark hair. She also shares his funny humor and weird laughter.
They like the same goofy TV shows and video games too.

It was not long before we had almost all the inside Christmas decorations packed away for safe keeping, for another year to come.

The joy we find doing simply family things. Can add such memories to our life here together. It is just another way we turn our house into a home as we daily make space a happy place to live.

Um... I'm not sure why that picture of that baby is above your blog today, but it's really sick. Poor baby :o(.

UnschoolingMama,

Sorry if you were offended by the picture. It was just one way our older kids decided to dress up their baby for halloween.

I thought it was original since most parents just buy a costume and they did a great job on the make up.

By the way there are several of these pictures on the net that are offered so that other parents can copy and dress up their babies in different characters for special events.

Thank you for not taking offense :o). I just feel for that baby, under all that makeup... it cannot be healthy. and the picture is frightening, so I must be cautious opening this blog in front of my little ones.

That small vent aside- I am thoroughly enjoying your posts!

Blessings,
Nicole
