As a loving reminder of how blessed we are as a country. My voice goes out to every American Family who has thought about adoption but has not acted on their intentions.

November is just one month before our Christmas Holiday. This year it is National Adoption Month.
What a wonderful gift to be adopted and find a loving family right before the holidays.

You can read more about it on http://www.childwelfare.gov/adoption/nam/

The purpose of a National Adoption Month is to raise awareness of children living in foster care who are up for adoption. There will be public service announcements and a proclamation from the president as well as programs from ADOPTUSKIDS that will be encouraging people to look into our children in foster care who are in need of good homes.

At the web site listed above you can email AdoptUsKids and find out more information as prospective adoptive parents. There is also information on what the PSA will cover.

The information will cover international adoption as well as children available within your own state and a crossed the united states.

Many of these children are older children...which means ages 2 and up. Who have come into state custody and have recently had their Termination of Parental Rights and have been placed in the national MARE book.

Other children have been listed for longer periods of time and are getting older and growing up in the foster care system.

Foster care may be a better answer than the birth home neglect and abuse but it is in no means meant to be a permanent solution for a child to grow up in.

These children as seeking a chance to find out what family life is all about and they want somewhere to belong.

Pass the word and talk to your friends and neighbors. If there are families out there who have always wanted to adopt. Now could be the right time to get things started. It is most certainly a chance to meet some of the prospective kids that are up for adoption.

There are some advantages to help families out who decide to adopt sibling groups. There is an adoption subsidy that help families afford the costs of adoption. So please do not let money be the reason you decide you can not adopt.

Join with me and let's hope that more needy children find good homes a crossed the country as the call for awareness is spread through out the month of November 2006.

Let's celebrate family by encouraging adoption of the displaced children a crossed America. We can all make a difference one Adoption at a time.
