There is nothing like a good Thunder Storm that comes along and takes out all the power in the house. If it lasts just a few minutes the excitement wears down and everyone goes back to their electronic haven. But, if it is one of those long lingering power outages that lasts for hours.
Many of us stay at home mom's scream for help.

What to do...hummmm....how do you keep those little ones busy enough to survive the day?

1.) Get out a large piece of drawing paper and some
colorful pencils, crayons or markers.

2.) Have everyone join in. Draw something on the paper. Then pass it to your child.

3.) Have your child add something to the picture. Then they too pass it on to the next child or person
enjoying the black out.

4.) Each person adds a drawing. Your Art Work takes on form.

5.) You will notice as each person passes the drawing on the next person is eager to see what was added. After a while you will notice excitement and laughter. Everyone Enjoys the art work and no one is missing electricity. They are just having good

fun while passing time.

......................or....................

1.) Grab a book and begin to read out loud as your
paragraph ends pass the book on to the next person.

2.) Each person reads a paragraph or page.

3.) Keep passing the book around and before you know it. Several things will be happening. Everyone is enjoying the book, you are helping younger children and older ones who need it, work on reading skills and before you know it time passes.

.......................or.......................

1.) Grab that no bake cookie recipe.

2.) Have each person grab an ingredient and measure it out to it's perfect size.

3.) Each person adds their ingredient as the recipe calls for it.

4.) Make it fun by letting the kids do all the stirring and shaping of the cookies.

5.) Before you know it you have made a nice snack for everyone and time has been flying by.

6.) If it is dark there are always candles and flash lights to light your way. They may also lead into some fun spooky stories. But make sure they are not to scary the little ones will need some sleep
later in the night.

7.) Sleep....what a refreshing idea. Catch up on some of the lost hours you just could not find time for.

Just remember.....even without power you can still have creative fun with your family.
