Paperwork Blunders

Oh the insanity of all the paper work that we go through to adopt a child. It is very important to fill out every blank. To answer the questions clearly. To write so that it can be clearly read.
And.....Do NOT Forget the hyphen if there is one in your last name.

We had all of our paper work done. Sent off by our Adoption worker and then had it kicked back to us to complete. I guess I forgot to put a dash between my maiden name and my married last name.

So there we went back to the office (which was 45 miles away) just for me to draw small dashes in between my hyphenated last name.

Every "i" dotted and every "t" crossed. We sent back in the paper work. This time it went through smoothly. But the time delay of kicking it back to us for me to draw in the hyphens really bugged me.

My small mistake postponed our adoption for over a month.

So when you are doing the paper work. Take your time and remember the time you spend now doing things correctly will help to speed up your adoption in the long run.

Everything must be legal and done properly so that your adoption runs smoothly.

It is all worth it in the long run.

It'll all be worth it in the end, just keep that as your mantra and the paperwork will seem meaningless, trust me and best of luck
