Removing The Fear From Child Dental Care

It is never to early to show off those tiny pearls that are growing inside your babies mouth. It also is never to early to begin good dental health.

They make a ton of good products that will attract your toddler to brushing his or her teeth after each meal. Everything from Sponge Bob to Dora can be found on the tooth brush isle. Including good tasting tooth paste.

They even have baby mouth brushes that fit over mom's finger tip that can be used to clean your babies gums and the little teeth that are coming through.

Some children do have a fear of new things like going to the dentist. Those fears are as real to them as the night time monsters under their bed.
Just as you chase away the monsters, you may have to chase away dental fears too.

How is this done? By interviewing a few good pedia dentists. Asking other moms about who they like to take their children too. Make a first visit for the dentist to just talk about teeth and good dental health with your child. So the dentist can take a look and make a plan for another visit.

A dentist with a good bed side manner and a since of humor....can wow the kids all the time. They know not to make sudden moves towards the child and they know to keep a parent close and in the room until the child feels at home with the nurse and dental technicians.

Encouraging your children to drink water or other non sugary drinks will promote good dental health on it's own. Choosing fruit or a sugar free treat will also help keep those tiny teeth shinning like pearls.

If your child falls and does damage to a tooth. Remember it could be painful and it would be a good idea to consult your dentist and ask if you need to bring your child in.

Exercise good dental care yourself by brushing your teeth and allowing your child to watch or to brush their teeth too.

Remember good dental habits are a life time lesson.
If they do not learn it from you. Where will they learn it? Preschool does help out in teaching kids to take care of their teeth. The whitest smile is the brightest smile....that comes with good dental care.
