Is your child:
controlling, bossy, manipulative, defiant, sneaky, argumentative, demanding, impulsive, explosive, oppositional, lying, stealing, and underachieving?
Do you feel:
out of control, helpless, demoralized, guilty, inadequate, and emotionally exhausted?

If the answer to the above questions seem to be a LOUD CRY YES.......Then make sure you go on to read the rest of this informational web link.http://www.radconsultancy.com/

This RAD unit offers a complete different approach to counseling and therapy. They correspond with the parent of the child with all the issues (usually the mother). Once or twice a week over the phone.
They say there is no need for face to face therapy.
That the traditional course of therapy does not work and is only more disappointing to the child and family unit.

By the parent being able to contact them by phone and work one on one with the child. They have seen complete improvements in about six weeks and complete turn a rounds, in the child's behaviors with in a few months of this new approach.

If you have a RAD child at home you know that when you are at your low points you will try anything to seek help for your child and your family unit.

I know that my daughter gets absolutely nothing from her therapy sessions. It is just a waste of time and money. The therapist never pushes the issues and my daughter evades any chance to work on personal issues.

I for one would try any new innovative plan that would show results and make life easier for a family with a RAD child.

It seems as the child grows older they set themselves up for destruction. They leave the Adoptive families behind with thousands of dollars in treatment and legal fees. So something has to change in this system to help the parents who deal with these children on the every day basis.

you really think this would work????

Yep, sure it is nice to have someone to talk to, but I'm sure they are charging thousands of dollars for their program....

Will say non parent supported therapist are not helpful...

I'm getting kind of sick of all the "new" RAD therapist who come up with their 100% treatment offers targeting adoptive parents who will try anything to help a child..

Dear Getting Old,

I agree with you about the RAD Therapists. Facts are no therapist can help a child or person who does not want to be helped.

I believe in therapy as long as there are good results coming from the sessions. If not...might as well try this new approach.

I think changes need to be made but I am not sure what changes would really help.

Hugs,
Sharlene
