Yesterday was an important day for every citizen to vote for who they felt would be a good Govenor and what issues needed to be addressed in their own state.
My husband took our daughter with him to Vote. Angela is very personable and the home town crowd had fun teasing her and asking her who she wanted to vote for.
What they didn’t expect was her opinion. Well needless to say they got it. I think even my husband and I were a little shocked to hear what she had to say.
It seemed that she had listened to the commercials and she had a very “As a matter of fact” opinion.
We agreed when she said that no one should kill Doves unless they are harming something or someone.
She was right there too….the desire to protect the song bird passed.
I think we were all surprised that an 8 year old would have a few opinions and for them to be on target too was of even more interest.
At 8 I don’t think I paid much attention to political campaigns or junk like that. I just knew I was glad the TV was back to normal when the campaign was over.
Angela was very inquisitive on how the voting machines worked also. I can remember being lost the first time I went to vote. I had not paid much attention to what my mom and dad were doing when I tagged along in the lines.
It does not surprise me that I didn’t pay much attention. I have never been a political person.
Which I am very thankful for. I take my time and go vote but other than that. However I am proud to see my daughter taking things a little more serious that I have.
The right to vote is a precious possession. We should all be mindful and respect our choices in the political arena.
