The Land of Forgotten Toys

Walking into our attic is like walking into the "Land of lost toys."

Over the years toys that the kids wanted to hand on to or pass down got placed in the attic. Last summer we made a huge dent in it by having a big yard sale. We ended up giving everything away in free bends after the third day.

We still have techno dogs, race tracks, train sets, fancy dolls and an allotment of other toys that are still up there.

We are going to have our kids over on one weekend in Spring and have them sort through what they want and let them take it home to their kids.

I guess what ever is left will end up at a yard sale again or donated to the Salvation Army. Which will be a good thing.

I refuse to be a part of it all because I see the toys and think of all the memories and I would never get rid of any of them. So my darling husband is in charge of this stage of life.

Angela has such different interests than my other daughters did. She likes frogs and insects and all kinds of animals. She does not care for dolls at all. Except for a few porcelain dolls that i have placed up for her. I think she only says she cares for them because mommy collects them.

She has decided she is going to be a human doctor or a Vet when she grows up. I think she will lean towards the Animal side. She has a re pore with animals and her kindness draws them to her.

How many others out there have a land of lost toys in their homes? I think with all the things the kids got for Christmas it is time to let some of the older things go by by and bless other kids.

I know it will make me feel so much better once the clutter is gone. Maybe this will be my new years resolution.
