The Missing Pencils Part 4

Breeanna and her sister used to live with their birth mom. When times got a little rough and the birth mom lost her job, the court placed the children with the birth father at his request.

At that time in her life Breeanna's birth mom had been drinking and was depressed, so she didn't fight this action. She wanted what she thought was best for her daughters.

This is a true story. Breeanna's birth mom attends our church and my husband was the one who suggested that she just ask Breeanna if she liked collecting pencils. He also directed her to an attorney where she filed papers to fight for custody of her girls.

They are still in court and the case is pending. The step mother is very abusive in very wrong ways. Cutting a child's hair is humiliating as well as not allowing them to explain when there is a problem.

The spankings were on the behind and no bruises were left, so there is no case documentation of physical abuse to stand on.

Most of the people from our church have written letters of support and we have helped Breeanna's mom get on her feet.

I chose to write this as a story because it is Breeanna's story and we wanted her to be able to read it and understand how brave and good she was to turn her behavior around, even when her step mom did some harsh things that she had no place doing.

Discipline should have been left to the hands of the birth dad and mom.
