In October Oprah Winfrey did a talk show on "Mom's around the World." It impressed me because most of us never see what Mothers of different areas in the world go through to raise their children.

One lady was an American Eskimo who happened to be raising her two children in Alaska. Where the winters are harsh and it sometimes gets down to 108 below zero. She elaborated on how they hunt and process food to help keep them warm in the cold months of wicked winter. Where Whale meat and fat is one of the ways they keep their body strong and nourished to survive the cold.

One Mom was from Africa. She was the sole parent left to raise 10 children. She carried items from place to place to earn money to feed her children and keep them clothed. She was managing on less than 70 cents per day.

They also told about a Mom living in Europe who had nanny's for the children and a maid to clean the house. Her soul purpose was to spend quality time with the kids after the work was done.

It was also a surprise to me that Norway is thought to be the number one place to raise children. Everyone there seemed down to earth and into teaching their children the basics of life. Education being a big priority there.

Over the weeks that have passed since this show. I have began my day by praying for the Mom's around the world. It is more than obvious that every Mom's daily life is vastly different from the other.

Some can be full time stay at home mom's like me.
Others must work hard and barely see their children
just to provide a life and food for them. It is clear that every family had their own issues.

Those of us who will never be able to afford trips to China or Africa or Norway. Watching educational programs and getting a glimpse into the life of other Mothers around the world is very interesting.
It gave me my prayer project for the month before Thanksgiving.

It opened a complete new world for areas where I should be more thankful in just being a stay at home mom. I don't have to carry beds for miles to another village to earn money to feed my children.
My husband works and provides our needs. I do not have to leave the country side and go into the city to work. Only to leave my children behind with my parents to raise so that I can send money to feed them and clothe them. Those moms only see their children twice a year when they can afford to go back and visit.

Thank you Oprah for opening my eyes to the life of
"Mom's around the World."
