The Ricky Holland Murder Trial

The news papers were full of stories about young Ricky Holland and the murder trial that has begun here in Michigan.

The adoptive father took a plea bargain to second degree murder if he would testify against the adoptive mother.

He told how Ricky did not like coleslaw slaw. He had gone and gotten Kentucky Fried Chicken for dinner that night. He had made Ricky a plate with no Cole slaw. When the adoptive mother saw the plate she took it from Ricky and she put a place full of Cole slaw before him and told him that was his dinner and to eat it all.

The adoptive father said his wife asked him to run to the store to pick up something. When he returned home. She was mumbling something about not meaning to do it. He ran to check on Ricky and found him laying there with a bloody throw up on his face and neck. Then he told of how his wife told him to "Get him out of the house."

The adoptive father appeared to be in tears as he told of the horror of little Rickys death. His trial ended and now the adoptive mothers trial has just begun.

She blames the father for the murder. He has blamed her. In reality no one can bring this little boy back. However the public must know by the decision the court makes that killing children is not an option. Both parents were involved. Ricky's father could have told someone and gotten the child help.
Instead he left him alone with that woman. Then he put his little body in a trash bag and drove him to a remote area and tossed him off the side of the road. Like somebody's garbage.

As an adoptive parent I just can not phantom ever harming a child I went out of my way to adopt. Or any child for that matter.

I guess when I hear things like this story. I understand why God's word says that "Hell hath enlarged herself." There must be millions out there walking that wide road to hell for harming children.

I for one would not want to be standing in the Hollands shoes when they stand before God. What do you think?
