This beautiful tribute to children reading appears at the Childrens Art Museum in Indiana. There were several of these statues placed near the entrance of the museum. This of course was one of my favorites.

I have always loved to encourage children to read.
A book can open the doors of anyones imagination and take you to the outer limits of space or sit you down on the sand of a tropical island.

It is good to encourage your child to read with you, to you and to themselves. It enhances their comprehension level and teaches them to study and memorize history and words in art.

This is a beautiful place to take the whole family for a fun vacation if you live in the Mid West. They have every type of exhibit from paleontology to doll houses and toy train collections. My favorite hot spot was where they teach about hand blown glass.

This is just one idea for spring time mini vacations that your children will love. Anyone else know of any great places for mini vacations for the whole family? If so, all comments are welcomed.
