Trampolines. Are they fun? Yes. Are they safe? Good Question.
As summer gets closer you will see trampolines popping up all over your neighborhood. It is one of the new fun things to do in our area. However, depending on good nutrition and the physical health of a lot of children, this is one activity that I would recommend caution on.
When purchasing a trampoline try and find one with the safety sides included. They are about fifty dollars more than the regular buy, but well worth it in safety factor in the end.
Understand that if neighborhood children play on the trampoline you are liable for any injuries caused. Your home insurance will consider your thought in the safety sides if even you must file a claim.
Any child playing on a trampoline should be able to do a few general athletic moves before being allowed to get on your trampoline. A head stand, hand stand, flip flop, cart wheel. This will mean they have practiced some good balance routines and they are ready for fun.
I know that when my children came to my home. Two of the three were weak in certain areas of their body from poor nutrition. April was weak in her arms and could not do cart wheels or hand stands.
Billy had very weak hands and ankles.
It is good to observe your children and know their limits before you choose summer fun activities that require balance and strength.
