HI, I am Julie, and I am running the Stepparent ADoption Blog. I came into his life when he was already 8, and adopted him at 12, so I have had to deal with alot of the "older child" issues. I will definetly come in and see what advice you have to hand out!

Hi Shar,
We are experiencing the adoption of our first child. She is 11 and we are in our early 40s. Talk about an adjustment after having been childless for almost 16 years of marriage! We are totally exhausted, but very happy. She is so much like both of us it is scary. I am all for adopting older children, and I will be sure to check out your blog on a regular basis.
