Life is not always a bed of roses for everyone. There are times when the simplest things that others do, are the hardest things we will ever do.
Our parents warn us as teenagers about the taboo of sex. How if you do not use protection you can get pregnant and ruin your life.
In today’s harsh world we warn our children if they do not use protection they can catch Aids and die.
Pregnancy is the least of our worries now.
But for some people. The threat of pregnancy never happens. Then our worry takes on a new meaning. Fear sets in on us and we wonder if we will ever be able to have children.
Other women go through miscarriage after miscarriage. Never being able to carry a child to full term.
For those who never can achieve pregnancy it is just as heart wrenching and emotionally devastating.
It is an emptiness that never goes away.
The medical profession has come along way in helping people who are wanting children to achieve a pregnancy. If at all possible fertility doctors will work hand in hand with couples to make it happen for them.
However there are young couples without insurance and without the income to use these resources. For them the pain is just as horrible. To consider money is the one thing standing in your way of becoming a parent.
What about those of us who have tried everything and have still not been able to conceive? Where do we go from here?
What if you have one child but the pregnancy was overwhelming on your body but you still want to add to your family?
What if you never find the right mate but still want a family and children in your life?
These are just a few of the reasons that bring people to the door way of adoption. The desire to help a child who has no family. To have a child when your womb is childless. To increase your family size and give your child a brother or sister.
To have a child even if you are not married.
Adoption can help make your dreams of a family come true. But it is not all a bed or roses. Having an adoptive child is very different from having a biological child. There are decisions to be made.
Questions that will be asked of you. Heart ache a child will carry for years to come. You will be the person all of this emotional hurt will be let out on.
It takes a strong person to be an adoptive parent.
You truly have to learn to love beyond measure.
It is not always easy. You have to work harder to get your child to trust you and to want to be your family. Then together you can make dreams come true for the both of you.
What ever brings you to look at Adoption as an option for your life. It is an amazing experience.
One that many end up doing over and over again.
And, our families keep growing with each little child we add to our clan. Welcome to our world of Adoption. Sit down and stay awhile. We just might have what you came looking for. (smile)
