The world of technology today never stops amazing me. For some of our parents out there the new security camera systems, could be just what they need.
A friend of mine had some vandalism problems early last summer. So they purchased a security camera and mounted it out on the porch. It took about one week and what they had expected as child vandalism was explained away. It seems they had inherited a very frisky raccoon and he was really playing havoc with their yard ornaments and trash bins.
They really felt silly when they recalled all the harsh thoughts they had about a few of the neighborhood kids. Thinking of course that they were the culprits instead of this pesky raccoon.
They decided they liked the new camera system. It had cost them less than one hundred dollars and had come with 2 dummy cameras that they could also mount.
So they kept it. They found it so useful because when daddy went out to mow the lawn and their toddler cried and could not see him. They could turn
on the camera and daddy was right there on the T. V. screen.
The many good uses for this kind of system got me to thinking how valuable it would be to foster parents with problem children. It would be a great way to supervise a living room area of a home. It would allow the parents to look at tapes of how the children react to one another when they are not with them. It could give a lot of positive insight into their children and help families learn their good areas of influence and those that still need to be worked on.
How a child keeps themselves busy when no one else is watching will tell you so much about them. It will help you counter act depression and sadness as well as tell you to be at ease and not worry so much.
If they are doing just fine.
It also can help you find out who is doing what if someone is messing with things they should not be messing with.
However with any camera system set up for safety.
Never use it to take away some ones right to personal privacy. Children need their private time just as we do as adults.
It just might be a good idea to catch the raccoons in your front room or in your yard. Plus it is not to expensive and can provide a number of good uses.
Like the toddler and daddy monitor.
